i do understand that you need your rest and the time to do your work, boys stuff and personal stuff... tats y i did not say anything... but now, being alone in the room without abby's presence, i come to tink that living without you is really something quite hard to cope with... how i wish you are here with me... :'(

Luckily, i only had to stay here for another 2 weeks.... i tink i should start counting down soon.... will you come to pick me??

so happen, i was working with samantha, peiling and raihan on one of the project and i asked her wat was going on... Apparently, her room mate ( the one that need to give birth the the 1st cohort and now joining back with the 2nd cohot) had her 1 yr plus child and the husband, flying over from singapore and joining her... and this family will be staying in the executive rooms for teachers... and poor raihan, will have to move out of her room and going through another transition because in wheelock policy, no student should be staying in the room themself. Raihan was very upset over this matter....

I asked peiling and samantha about their view of this situation and none of them agree on what the wheelock is doing.... everyone was like commenting that they can also bring or ask their live ones to come over... y must she be so special?? just becos she say that her child needs the mother and seperating with the child for 5 weeks is difficult? then she should have brough the child over on the day we took off... Although i m not in their shoes and i cannot say who is right and wrong, i personally feel that:

1) why is she given such special treatment?

2) is it really important that the child needs the mother so badly until the child will forget how the mother looks like if the child dun see her for 5 weeks?

3) wheelock should set their standards and follow wat they set and not give special treatment to others as and when they like.....

i know that not all people will disagree that wheelock should like raihan's roommate bring her whole family over... but i believe that most people will comment on how wheelock deals and handles with situations.....

yesterday, nancy gave us assignments to do and 3 of us (yvette, abby and me) planned that we will do it on the wednesday evening.... so abby and i just went shopping last nite... and this morning, we did not have class until 2 cos teacher say that she need to go to the dentist cos she going to attend son's wedding and must look nice.... so in the morning, me and abby planned something else... which is going to the John F. Kennidy museum....

so i thought since yvette is in our team and not going to do anything, we will invite her to go with us to the museum and it will be free cos we have the "city pass" which will allow us to have free enterance... but in the end, what she said is, " i tink i not going cos on thursday, i will be going to the movie with others and i will do the research part 1st will you all going to play."

i got upset because:

1) wat's going to the museum gotta do with the movies you going on thursday?

2) she keep saying that she have no money liao then she still wanna go for the movie that will cost US$ 11?? free one dun go.... wanna go ex one....

3) assignments already plan to start tonite liao then you must start 1st?? are you like trying to make us feel bad and change the plans for you??

the other part of me is thinking:

1) just mind your business... it is still her choice to do watever she want....

2) i can fully understand that y she is so KS about her work cos i was once like tat.... when you see ppl start doing the assignment liao, then you will feel that you are like at the last of the race and need to speed up! however, your other 2 partners are not there to work with you... (just like my past with laura and jasmine...)

i noe that i overreact about the situation and told abby about it... she talked to me and explained from her view point what she felt and everything... and i kinda like calm down alittle... However, i m still thinking, we are in a foriegn land and there are many things to play and explore during this time here... we already somehow know the timing of the shopping areas and the places of interest and as adults we can judge our time quite well... and i was tinking, we cannot keep giving in to yvette by cancelling our plans and just sit together to do work... but another side of me just keep telling me, " i cannot just keep going out to play with abby as i understand how she feel about the assignments. what if one day she just snaps and say that we "bully" her by asking her to do the assignments 1st or wat if she thinks that we are using her to do all the research part?"

Peeps... how ar?? y suddenly i tink so much and y suddenly like i become so concern about others? is it because i experience what yvette experience before and understand what she is going through? or m i slacking too much and keep wanting to play?? :((((

i want to go home liao... i miss you and caden and smartiess and all your classic moves and talks... :'(

* Just to update what kind of breakfast i m having almost every day! :X YumYum!

Things getting more and more interesting each day! this morning when i m having breakfast, suddenyl beside us there was BLACK water splashing out from the walls parallel to where we sitting! 2 tables with people, got drenched and their things were like soaking wet in the dirty water... and after that, the fire alarm rang and it was accident cum fire drill! hahaha.... everyone gathered and the firemen came along... everyone was complaining that they had no breakfast and everyone was hungry... But things had to go on.. so we ended up having an empty stomach, going for our drama class...

During the drama class, everyone actually looked very sian until the teacher did very fun thing with us... and also tour us around where we are; the wheelock family theatre..

* This guys is the marketing guy for all the shows that the wheelock family theatre produced.. and i tink he is a gay! (he is top on my suspecting list..) hahaha... he is just like kenji is all ways...

*That is the "ang moh" that is teaching us drama.. and that girl there is tiffany... she was asked to raise her hands up and look upwards and the teacher asked how you feel.. she just blurred out, "i feel like i m Jesus Christ!" O.O

Anyway, due to the mishap this morning, we earned a free lunch meal and the cafe! heex... then after that school again,, :( sians... but after that, it was time to go to the president's house!

At the end of the day, we headed back and started mugging on assignments again... :(

actually.. today nothing much realyy happen.. cos just the same old thing happening... eat breakfast, go school and after that, coming back with dinner to our dorm n do project...:(

miss ya and the boy lots.. :'( how i wish i can fly back now...

23 June 2009 (Boston) - tuesday

morning was free and intended to go to some shopping cos my and abby heard that VS ( victoria Secrets) sales is ending very soon... and there are still lotsa things that we need to get! However, we did not really go in the end becos project is in hand and it was a more important thing that we needed to clear...

However, things in the afternoon pissed me off so bad that i started to change my attitude towards the lessons with my some wat favorite "Ang moh" teacher; Ms Nancy Clark.... thanks to that fucking teacher; Juliet... Nancy just left the room for just a while and she like took over the class liao.... and the worst thing is, she became the "clown" to try her very best to like befriend with us... which is like obviously very fake! and then the other students are lyk insulting her and she still continues to talk and be thick skin to stand in front of the class and change the way Nancy is trying to teach us... In addition, she have actually confused what we are learning and have already known.... I was so fucking angry to the extent i told abby," can she just lyk fuck off and shut up! we are going to see her the next 8 weeks after the boston trip and she still stand in front of us to talk cock! Fuck off and give us more time to sleep and rest so that later we will have enough energy to shop!!!"

Any way, the class ended and this is wat happens....

It was a very interesting start for today! although we woke up like super early and everyone was still tired, we sat on the T to go to a childcare center which is called "head-start program".

A little about the center:

1. this center is fully funded by the government to allow children from low income family to enrole in it... Parents do not have to pay a single centre even for the enrolement...
2. in this center, there is everything... this include dental, early intervention room and transition rooms that allows the infant and toddlers to get use to the timing in the pre- k class....
3. Service provided includes free dental screening, free diagnosis whether the child is special needs in any way, free meals, free diapers for children, free formular milk, etc....

so me and abby were placed into this infant and toddler class to see see look look and this is what we saw...

* this is like a picture of the entire classroom that we entered and we can see that the furniture are mostly catering for young children and there are losta space which is actually to accomodate children or adults who are physically disabled, to move around....

From this exeperience, i would just want to conclude that Singapore should be ashame of their child care policies and the way that the system is doing things.... In the childcare at boston, everything is child-centered.... everything the teachers are doing, is done with a mindset of putting the child before anything... although there is a time table that they need to follow... but the teachers there are saying that the timing for the infant and the toddlers are actually more flexible and should be changed or make arrangement according to the individual needs ad interest of the child.. Unlike Singapore, everything is objective base.... and due to the standards that the teachers have to meet, it becomes that the teachers are putting the standards and objectives from the school system before the children... which i tink is not correct....

After the pass few angry days with the other ppl, my dear abby and i decided to enjoy ourself while the others head their way to church and everything... but the weather was really very bad.... it was raining lyk for almost the whole day and the wind was blowing as well... However, we managed to take some pictures... and here are some of them....

* Look at all the fruits... Dun you think that there is something strange about it? the Bigger fruits are small and the smaller fruits are like bigger than the big ones in Singapore!

* A pet shop that sells cloths, collars, beds, bags, grooming services and every fresh cookies with chocolate as well!!!

*2 semi- twins trying out new PJs... wahahaha!

Despite all the trying and stuff... we shop the whole day but we did not really buy lotsa stuff yet.. any way, there is something interesting we found out from the others who went to church the following day.... They said that they manage to witness a Lesbian Marriage and they took part in the marriage at the church! so cool rite?! heex.... __________________________________________________________________

Haiz.... Nevertheless, the fun have to come to an end... school start today and i m not even ready for it....

lesson was very rush and i dunno whether i m well enough whether to absorb what did the teacher say due to the jet lack.... but any way, lessons ended fast, and the assignments also came equally fast... tonite, i will have things to do that will be due next mon.... Sianz.... so just went to the nearest supermart to get dinner and come back to eat.... :(
